Work Injury, Criminal & Drunk Driving Lawyers in Elizabeth, NJ
Firm Overview
In 1994, Vincent S. Rispoli, Jr. left the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and formed Rispoli & Associates, P.C. in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the predecessor firm to Rispoli & Borneo, P.C. In March of 1999, Michael C. Borneo joined the firm after practicing law as an associate litigation attorney, in San Francisco, California. In 2001, Mr. Borneo became the Managing Partner of the firm focusing primarily on Workers’ Compensation claims, Criminal matters and Municipal Court matters, such as Drunk Driving tickets and Possession of CDS matters. Currently, Vincent Rispoli, Jr. and Wade F. Suthard are “Of Counsel” to the firm.
Since its inception, the firm has focused its practice on Workers’ Compensation, Criminal Defense, Drunk Driving, Municipal Court and Personal Injury, in Union, Essex, Middlesex and Monmouth counties. The firm employs a bilingual staff to better represent Spanish and Portuguese speaking clients. The firm’s philosophy is to provide each client with outstanding, vigorous and aggressive representation.
All clients are offered a free initial consultation to discuss the merits of the case. The free consultation is handled by an attorney, not a paralegal, investigator or other firm staff. Mr. Borneo is committed to meeting with each and every potential client, in person, before he/she decides whether to retain the services of Rispoli & Borneo. Separate meetings, with every potential client, allow both the Mr. Borneo and the potential client the opportunity to interact directly and have a detailed conversation about the legal issue facing the client. This one on one interaction allows the clients to get to know Mr. Borneo and ask questions with an attorney, before retaining the services of the firm.
All Workers’ Compensation matters are handled on a contingency fee basis. The attorney fee in a Workers’ Compensation matter is subject to the discretion of the Workers’ Compensation Judge assigned to hear the case, but is typically 20% of the Permanency Award. The client ordinarily pays less than 50% of the fee. The insurance company pays the balance. In addition to fighting for a Permanency Award, the firm’s experienced work injury attorneys assist clients in securing all of the Temporary Disability and Medical Benefits owed to the client. If the insurance company fails to meet its commitment to our clients, the work injury attorneys at Rispoli & Borneo, PC are well versed at filing Motions for Temporary and Medical Benefits to force the insurance company to pay the maximum benefits owed.
