Founded in 1994 by Vincent S. Rispoli, Jr., a former Assistant Prosecutor with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, the firm was established with the mission to provide results-driven legal representation. In 1999, attorney Michael C. Borneo joined the firm, bringing with him valuable litigation experience from California. He became a Managing Partner in 2001 and has since been at the forefront of the firm’s growth and reputation for excellence.

 

Vincent S. Rispoli, Jr.

Vincent S. Rispoli, Jr. is a seasoned litigation attorney and former prosecutor with over three decades of legal experience. Serving the firm in an Of Counsel capacity, Mr. Rispoli has dedicated his career to serving clients throughout the state of New Jersey, with a strong focus on work injury and personal injury law.

Mr. Rispoli earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Suffolk University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1986. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Nova School of Law in 1989. He has been admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Florida since 1989.

Before founding the firm that would become Rispoli & Borneo, P.C., Mr. Rispoli served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office from 1990 to 1994. In 1994, he established his private practice in Elizabeth, NJ, bringing his prosecutorial insight and litigation skills to private clients.

Of Council to Rispoli & Borneo, P.C., Mr. Rispoli continues to support the firm with his extensive legal knowledge, particularly in work accident and injury claims. 

Michael C. Borneo

Attorney Michael C. Borneo leads the firm with extensive knowledge and a client-first approach. He earned his law degree with honors from The George Washington University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University, graduating summa cum laude.

Mr. Borneo personally meets with each potential client during an initial consultation, providing clients with the one-on-one opportunity to discuss their legal matters directly with our knowledgeable attorneys—not a paralegal or staff member. This personalized approach is a cornerstone of the firm’s commitment to client care and transparency. 

The firm also benefits from the experience of attorney Wafe F. Suthard, who continues to serve the firm in an Of Counsel capacity. Together, our attorneys bring decades of collective knowledge and courtroom experience to every case.

Practice Areas

Our practice areas are focused and purposeful:

Most of our workers’ compensation cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, and our attorneys actively pursue full compensation—including temporary disability, medical benefits, and permanency awards. On the other side, criminal, DUI/DWI, and municipal court matters are handled on an hourly or flat-fee basis, with fees structured around the complexity of the case and each client’s financial situation. We believe in hair pricing for real legal results.

We represent clients throughout New Jersey, with offices in both Elizabeth, NJ and Tinton Falls, NJ. Our Elizabeth office is conveniently located across from the Union County Superior Court and just steps away from the Elizabeth Municipal Court.
